Grand Alliance members Hapag-Lloyd, Nippon Yusen Kaisha (NYK), and Orient Overseas Container Line (OOCL) have announced a Winter Programme between Europe and the Far East by adjusting capacity to the seasonal demand of customers.
In order to ensure continuation of the service network, Loop D will offer bi-weekly sailings. This temporary service adjustment was implemented effective westbound week 40 (Pusan 2nd October 2010) and is expected to last until March 2011.
The Grand Alliance continues to offer three services between North Europe and the Far East, covering all major ports with weekly sailings.
The Grand Alliance, formed in 1998, is one of the leading consortia in global container shipping. Its members are Hapag-Lloyd (Germany), NYK (Japan), and OOCL (Hong Kong).
