Govt. to takeover defunct BOI factories!

President Mahinda Rajapaksa has stressed that the Government will take over all the factories under the Board of Investment (BOI) in free trade zones which are currently closed down, reports state owned news agency Lankapuwath.

It said that addressing the Western Province Development Committee meeting on Saturday in Panadura, the President had emphasised the importance of the State taking over the assets of factories which cannot achieve given goals and which are maintained through special tax cuts and privileges under the BOI.
