Driving forward innovation and with a view to showcase best practices in the HR industry, Sri Lanka’s number one HRIS software solutions provider, hSenid Business Solutions (HBS), will host the first-ever hSenid International Human Resource Management Conference 2011.

The conference will be conducted on 10 and 11 February at the Hilton, Colombo.

With a theme that speaks for itself – ‘Unleashing HR Potential to Compete Globally’ – the conference aims to bring out thought leadership on the latest HR industry trends and best practices. Over 70 international delegates from many countries across the world such as India, Malaysia, Australia, Kenya, Nigeria and many more have also been invited to be a part of this event.

“When we first entered the industry 14 years ago, there was no human resources sector in operation at the time. While the country has come a long way from that situation, we need to change our mindset which still focuses heavily on the administrative area of the HR sector as what is necessary now is a focus on strategy which is what will help companies to move forward and be able to compete successfully on a global platform,” said founder and CEO of the hSenid Group of Companies Dinesh Saparamadu, airing his thoughts on the current situation of the HR industry in the country.

The two-day conference will therefore look to promote this change and will provide delegates with an ideal opportunity to explore and tap into the full spectrum of HR expertise whilst staying abreast of key HR topics being discussed across the world, all on one common platform.

Saparamadu further added that this conference was mostly dedicated to their customers who have been with them since their initiation in 1997 and the event would be marked with an evening cocktail which would give their customers the chance to mingle with the international HR professionals coming from all over the world.

Some of the delegates expected are also their customers in hSenid’s international markets and this chance for both their local and international customers to interact with each other may also lead to further business interactions between the various parties.

“hSenid Business Solutions has been serving the HR fraternity for the past 14 years and is today an indigenous company that has grown into a multinational and is therefore a true epitome of HR values and best practices. We have enabled our customers in the global marketplace. Hosting an event of this nature is a matter of great honour to us,” stated Director and General Manager of HBS Sampath Jayasundara.

Commencing on 10 February, the conference will kick off with a breakfast forum at which topics such as group level HR deployment and its international implications will be discussed with key speakers from both Sri Lanka and overseas voicing their opinions on these topics.

The conference will then open up and be divided into two tracks which will feature technical sessions and this will continue until the end of Day One. This will be followed by the evening cocktail where discussions will be continued in a far more informal setting. Day Two will contain two more similar tracks sessions and will come to a close with lunch.

The first of its kind, the conference however will not be an annual event due to the extensive preparation needed to put such an event together, but the CEO of hSenid Group hopes to host such an event at least every couple of years in order to keep Sri Lanka at the forefront of the industry and retain a competitive edge in the future.
