The National Chamber of Exporters of Sri Lanka (NCE) will conduct a forum titled “Power plans 2011 and beyond” on 12 November from 4.30 p.m. 6.30 p.m. at the auditorium of the Export Development Board.
Chief Guest will be Minister of Power and Energy Patali Champika Ranawaka who along with officials of his ministry will make a presentation on the government’s initiative to develop a sustainable power plan for the country. The presentation will discuss short term, medium term and long term electricity solutions, where the ministry plans to supply power to all by 2012.
“The industry can get to know about new tariff structures, alternative energy plans and other methods the government plans to introduce to different sectors in order to support economic growth,” NCE said.
“This forum will give the opportunity to exporters, industrialists and other businesses to understand and plan their future as power will be a key element in attracting and the viable investments as well as maintaining competitiveness,” the Chamber added.
