The Exporters’ Association of Sri Lanka will conduct a seminar titled ‘All You Need to Know Relating to SVAT – Simplified Value Added Tax (SVAT) Scheme’ on Monday, 30 May 2011, at 2:30 p.m. at the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce Auditorium, Colombo 02.
Manufacturers, suppliers and other groups involved in the supply chain to exporters and other VAT exempt businesses will benefit from this interactive session which will address concerns and clarification of the new scheme and its implementation methodology.
Presentations will be made by Mallika Samarasekera – Deputy Commissioner General, VAT Unit Department of Inland Revenue and other key officials of the Inland Revenue Department.
Panellist Duminda Hulangamuwa Partner, Ernst & Young, will discuss and highlight issues and difficulties faced by different categories of taxpayers coming under this scheme.
The Moderator will be Senior Business Consultant Mohan Mendis, past Chairman EASL for this session, which promises to work towards greatly resolving issues and concerns arising within the business community at large.
