Evergreen Line will be vessel sharing with MCC Transport on its Malaysia – Bangladesh Shuttle (MBS) service commencing 16 December, 2010.
Evergreen Line has served transport cargo to and from the Bangladesh area by common feeder at Colombo Harbour. Due to the growing trend of increasing volume in local export and import markets, common feeder services are no longer able to meet capacity demands of customers at cost-effective prices, Evergreen Line said in a prepared statement.
By launching the MBS service with MCC Transport, Evergreen Line can now ensure both long-haul and regional transshipment capacity, as well as shorter transshipment time. It will also benefit customers through Evergreen Line's ability to provide more convenient and complete services.
The two carriers will each deploy one 700-TEU capacity containership with the following 14- day rotation: Tanjung Pelepas –Chittagong–Tanjung Pelepas
