Following the successful launch of ‘ Feel Sri Lanka,’ a large number of tourists and expatriates have witnessed this magnificent concert of traditional dances being held every Friday at the hotel school building at 5:30 p.m.
However, the objective of Sri Lanka Tourism in this venture is much larger than mere entertainment.
According to Sri Lanka Tourism, to make Sri Lanka the ‘Wonder of Asia’, communication efforts need to differentiate the country from its competitors and one aspect that helps the industry is to project Sri Lanka’s culture and traditions that are depicted through dance forms that have been preserved in the country for over centuries.
“We have never seen a thing like this before” is what tourism officials hears from foreigners after the show and they all want their friends and relatives to see this one hour programme whenever they come to Sri Lanka. “The word is getting around and we want this to be a ‘must see show’ in the future,” said Sri Lanka Tourism officials.
