Drydocks World, a leading name in the maritime industry, has announced the launch of its highly versatile, self-contained jack-up construction vessel, Nora, at the company’s Graha shipyard in Indonesia.
The self-propelled vessel Nora was built for Master Marine ASA of Norway, said a statement from Drydocks World.
Its flagship facility, Drydocks World - Dubai is the largest, cutting edge ship repair, conversion and new building facility between Europe and the Far East.
Designed by Global Maritime, and classified by the American Bureau of Shipping, Nora is 111.8 m long and capable of carrying up to 260 people.
The vessel’s service jacks are self driven and equipped with DP2, two pedestal cranes each with 750-tonne capacity and a large open deck area of 2,500 sq m, said a top official at the launch ceremony held at Graha shipyard in Indonesia on Saturday.
Khamis Juma Buamim, chairman, Drydocks World and Maritime World, said the launch of Nora demonstrates the company’s capability to consistently deliver sophisticated projects.
“We are committed not only to meeting our customers’ expectations, but also to exceeding them with our high performance levels,” he remarked.
Buamin said, “We confidently aspire to become a distinct and dedicated role model in innovative and specialised marine services, through positioning ourselves as the provider of choice for specialised vessels in the heavy maritime transport for the oil sector, energy, offshore oil facilities, connectivity between platforms and rigs as well as transporting and installing wind turbines in the submerged areas, especially in the North Sea.”
