DP World Vietnam terminal adds 2 new customers

Global Marine Terminal operator DP World has added United Arab Shipping Company (UASC) and China Ocean Shipping Company (Cosco) as new customers at its Saigon Premier Container Terminal (SPCT).

SPCT is an 80:20 joint venture between DP World and the Vietnamese state-owned Tan Thuan Industrial Promotion Company (IPC) in Ho Chi Minh City.

UASC, recognised as one of the largest Middle East based ocean carriers, launched a weekly vessel call to SPCT named the “SEA3” service, with the maiden call of the 1,015 TEU (twenty foot equivalent container units) vessel “Oshairij”. This new service will maintain a weekly shuttle service between Ho Chi Minh City and Port Klang in Malaysia. Cosco, one of the largest liner shipping companies in the world, is also starting a weekly call. The 1,702 TEU vessel “Fei Yun He” made her maiden call to SPCT as part of the SCS service calling at Nansha in China, Hong Kong, Shekou in China, Singapore, Jakarta in Indonesia – Surabaya in Indonesia – Singapore.  “We hope UASC and Cosco will be satisfied with our premium services, well trained staff and modern facilities.
