Dhanika leads RCGC Junior Open Championship 2010

Dhanika de Silva, a 17-year-old of British School, shot a 77 in the first round and is leading the Junior Open Championship being held at the Royal Colombo Golf Club.

Last year’s winner Sachin de Silva also of British School is in second place on 79.

Gold Division – 15-17 years: Dhanika de Silva is leading the division on 77 while Vishal Jayasekera who shot an 85 is in second place.  Saven Fernando and Charitha Puspika are tied for third place on 89. The only girl playing in this division, Nadine Jayaratne, shot a 90 to be in fifth place.  

Silver Division – 11-14 years: Sachin de Silva who won the Junior Open Championship 2009 shot a 79 to lead by four strokes from Preshan Peiris who had an 83.   

Bronze Division – 10 years and under: This division is played over two days with nine holes per day.  Arvind Hidramani from Colombo International School aged nine years is in first place having shot a 68.  In second place is Gihan Karunaratne who shot a 75.
