Classical Guitar by Dusk at the Galadari

Promising new Classical guitarist Umesh Hemantha will perform a series of classical pieces starting 1 March and following every Tuesday, from 7:30 p.m. – 11.30 p.m at the Galadari Hotel Lobby.

He began his musical career as a self taught musician playing with friends at school gigs in which he performed mostly for self fulfillment rather than a serious note.

 He went on to play with the veterans in the local music scene such as Black, Aakash and Aliens with Aruna Liyan and Thilak Dias. Having short stints with each band, Umesh resolved to perform solo paying special attention to classical guitar and flamenco rumba styles of music which he enjoyed most.  If you are looking to unwind and relax after hard day’s work, probably over a few cocktails and good music, head over to the Lobby bar of the Galadari and wind down to the sounds of Umesh on his Classical guitar performing the best loved ballads of all time.
