The 2013 CIMA GBC, which is being held in partnership with Barclays, is an international business management competition open to full-time undergraduates of public and private colleges and universities. The competition is designed to bring out the very best in the next generation of business leaders by analysing a real-life scenario and presenting innovative solutions. It provides students with a fantastic opportunity to test their financial knowledge and expand upon their competitive ability. In addition, it has previously led to internship opportunities from well-known organisations.
This year 72 teams from 13 universities entered the competition. Two teams Synergy and Strategic Solutions from University of Colombo and Aurora and Absicht from University of Moratuwa will battle it out in the finals to secure a place at the global finals which is to be held in Johannesburg, South Africa, on 28 and 29 August, which promises to be a thrilling event. A total of over 16,000 undergraduates from 24 countries took part in this years’ CIMA Global Business Challenge where each country will be represented by one team each at the world finals in South Africa.
