The Sri Lankan automobile industry is expanding rapidly. Irrespective of the urban or rural demography, the requirement of motor vehicles has increased due to personal and business demand. Sri Lanka has increased diverse demand for all types of motor vehicle, where we see the latest luxury vehicle running on Colombo streets.

Due to the reduction of excise duty on cars, SUVs and jeeps there is a remarkable increase in the demand for new vehicles. Therefore, the time is opportune for motor vehicle dealers to show case their brands at the upcoming Ceylon Motor Show, he said.

The membership of the Ceylon Motor Traders’ Association comprises brand new franchise holders. The Association was founded in 1919 and is affiliated to the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce.

The CMTA which is the third oldest Association under the aegis of the CCC has a history of 90 years. During the 90 years, the Association has taken various measures to develop, support, and protect the interest of the motor industry.

Some of the main objectives of the event are to provide an opportunity for CMTA member organisations to showcase their brands of vehicles at a focused event, and also showcase the latest developments and technologies that have taken place in the global automobile industry while giving an opportunity for everyone to experience a motor show on par with some much celebrated international events.
