The two cricket teams, comprising of young stars that would eventually make up two of today’s preeminent test playing nations, were garlanded as they entered the Hotel which would be accommodating them for the rest of their tour in Sri Lanka.
Director /General Manager Upul Gamage and Director Sales & Marketing Harsha Samaranayake greeted the officials and players of both teams.
“We are proud to host both teams during their season of cricket together and we hope they enjoy their stay here at the Continental.” stated General Manager Upul Gamage. “We are happy to have all these young stars with us – whom we can consider the future of Sri Lankan and English cricket. We wish both teams the best, and look forward to some great cricket over the next few weeks!”
Both teams are hot off the heels of the Galle test match (14th Jan – 17th Jan) which resulted in a draw on the fourth and final day.
The teams will continue to play several one day and test matches until their departure from the Hotel and host nation Sri Lanka, on the 5th of February.
