The Boeing Dreamliner ZA002 had an onboard electrical fire recently, which led to the loss of primary electrical power.
The flight was approaching Laredo in Texas. According to an update issued by the company, as quoted in eTurboNews, the backup systems including the Ram Air Turbine (RAT), functioned normally, allowing crew to complete a safe landing.
Initial inspections show that a power control panel in the aft electronics bay needs to be replaced. Boeing is checking other surrounding areas as well. The company has said it has postponed flight tests on other airplanes, and is concentrating on ground test activities till such time as the former can be resumed.
