Coach of the Sri Lankan national cricket team, Trevor Bayliss, has announced that he will not be seeking an extension to his contract after the upcoming ICC Cricket World Cup.
Bayliss, whose contract with Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) will end after the World Cup, said that he would not be looking to extend his stay with Sri Lanka owing to family commitments. He, however, told the Herald in Australia that he was on the lookout for a new job.
The former coach of New South Wales joined Sri Lanka in 2007 replacing Tom Moody as coach, and was part of the ill-fated convoy that came under attack by terrorist in Pakistan in March, 2009. The Australian born coach chose to stick with Sri Lanka after the attacks, and was rewarded by SLC with an extension to his contract just weeks after the attack.
Stuart Law, who is the current assistant coach is tipped to take over from Bayliss as the head coach.
