Sri Lanka’s consumer prices rose 6.8 percent in January from a year earlier, easing from a 6.9 percent rise in December, government data showed on Monday, roughly in line with analyst expectations.

Annual average inflation rose to 6.0 percent this month, from 5.9 percent in December.

Analysts in a Reuters poll had expected consumer prices and annual average inflation to have stabilised at 6.9 percent and 5.9 percent respectively.
