Amba Research Lanka recently hosted a visit by the Global President of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA), George Glass at their Colombo offices at the World Trade Centre.
Amba’s 80+ CIMA members, associates, and students met George Glass and used the opportunity to get an update on membership, curriculum, and other global developments within the professional body.
George Glass also took the opportunity to learn more about the fast-developing Knowledge Process Outsourcing (KPO) sector and Amba’s role in recruiting and retaining staff at the highest level. Amba’s CEPs and certified training programmes have made it a foremost recruiter of financial professionals in the country. The firms structured training allows people from multiple disciplines to apply their knowledge to be able to serve the global capital markets space.
George Glass, Global President of CIMA said: “I am very impressed to see the concentration of CIMA talent in Amba. The type of analytical work done here to support business and investment decisions clearly reflects our positioning of CIMA-qualified members as business partners. Sri Lanka is well known for its financial talent base. The no conflict situation in the country will doubtless encourage both KPO and BPO operators to enhance business volumes. As the largest market for CIMA outside the UK, I am proud to see the role our institution is playing in internationalising the local talent”
Country Head of Amba Research Lanka, Dr. Kemal de Soysa added: “We are very pleased to host George and thank him for taking the time out of his busy schedule to visit Amba. Amba Research Lanka and CIMA have a long-standing relationship with more than a third of the company holding CIMA qualifications. The knowledge gained from pursuing CIMA’s curriculum is very relevant and easily applicable to our core business – equity research.”
