A Memorable Mothers’ Day at Cinnamon Lakeside Colombo

Often the people we love the most are the ones we acknowledge the least, and our mothers usually top this list. That’s why when Mother’s Day rolls around, the least we can do is treat her to the best. Cinnamon Lakeside Colombo has lined up a series of indulgences for mums beginning with special treats at Goodies to a Mother’s Day Lunch at the Dining Room and even a Mother’s Day High Tea at the Lounge.

From the 6th of May to Sunday the 8th of May specialized Mother’s Day cakes will be on display at Goodies. A selection of verses will also be available at the hotel’s to express your appreciation. Coupled with a candle or a rose and a personalised note you are sure to touch her heart. Goodies is open to serve you from 7.30am to 9.00pm every day and will respond to inquiries on 2491804. The hotel’s delicatessen is famous for its scrumptious cakes, danishes, muffins, sandwiches as well as its iced coffee, smoothies and an endless list of other treats.

On Mothers’ Day spend some quality time with mum over a lavish Sunday lunch buffet at The Dining Room. The spread will include batter fried prawns and fried handallo prepare à la minute. The carvery will include roast beef, roast pork and a stuffed turkey roll with cranberry sauce. The buffet also includes an oven roast pumpkin soup with roasted nuts, crabmeat and egg drop soup, Chinese style fried rice with chicken and shrimp, sliced lamb with black pepper and ginger, pan fried sea bass with saffron cream sauce, Thai fried beef with chilli paste, pene pasta with pesto sauce and a multitude of other dishes.

The dessert display will literally be the icing on the cake, with a selection of over twenty sweet treats comprising ‘Mama’s chocolate roll’, Prune and cheese strudel, the all-time favourite Ribbon cake, an Eggless mocha cake, Chocolate fudge cake, Lemon meringue pie, Floating island, Summer pudding, Fruit trifle, Orange mousse, Avocado and white chocolate mousse, Strawberry tartlets, Profiteroles filled with chocolate mousse, Tiramisu, Pears in red wine, Open apple tart, Charlotte royal, Mixed fruit cheesecake, Chocolate and mango pyramid, Queen of pudding, Chocolate fountain and Crème brûlée.

The buffet priced at the regular Sunday Brunch price of Rs. 1,600++++ opens at 12.00pm and remains until 3.00pm. For those that can’t make it to lunch, there’s always the Mother’s Day High Tea from 3.00pm to 6.00pm.
