The Police say that a strict security plan has been designed for President Mahinda Rajapaksa’s second term swearing-in ceremony.
An 11,000-strong security team that includes members of armed forces is to be deployed to provide security. Additional forces have also been made ready for emergencies. The authorities have also focused on the possible rain and floods, sources say. Measures have been planned to prevent floods. President is to swear in for the second term on 19 November at the Presidential Secretariat. Several foreign dignitaries are also expected to attend the ceremony.
