The Sri Lanka Design Festival Interior Design Exhibition 2016 (SLDF IDE) recently concluded on 6 November following a three-day mega event. Main sponsor for the event was the Aviation Industry Corporation of China or AVIC as it is best acknowledged as. AVIC is the company behind the influential ‘Astoria Condominiums’ project that is set to rise high in Colombo 03 by the end of 2017.
The three-day event, which kicked off on 3 November took place successfully at the Sri Lanka Exhibition and Convention Centre (SLECC). SLDF IDE 2016 attracted a crowd which comprised of high profile personalities from not only the country’s top corporate sphere as well as an influential audience which included international and local architects, hoteliers, interior designers, home/apartment owners and some of Sri Lanka’s most high-end Interior consumers with the buying power to purchase. Internationally curated spaces and a showcasing from a globally influenced production team comprised of qualified designers and producers from across the world.
For this year’s instigation from SLDF, the aim of this implementation was to optimise their relationship amongst Sri Lanka’s high net-worth professionals from the world of tourism, hospitality, interior architecture, fashion and apparel to provide participating brands and organisations with a powerful audience helming a high purchasing power.
SLDF 2016 also worked on bringing together a larger international delegation of interior and hospitality professionals from neighbouring nations like the Maldives and also collaborated with embassies to bring down international speakers and products for the festival. SLDF IDE’s three day exhibition comprised of forums, a fashion show, business networking sessions and a mega interior exhibition.
