National Chamber seminar on ‘Construction Industry and the Way Forward’ on 28 Sept.

The National Chamber of Commerce, in collaboration with the Construction Industry Development Authority (CIDA), will hold a seminar on the construction industry on 28 September from 3.00 p.m. to 5.00 p.m. at the National Chamber Auditorium, No. 450 D.R. Wijewardene Mawatha, Colombo 10.

The national policy on the construction industry – Important aspects and overview by CIDA Acting Chairman M.R. Jeyachandran

Construction industry overview, construction industry development act and role of Construction Industry Development Authority by CIDA Architect H.K. Balachandra and Chamber of Construction Industry Secretary General/CEO Eng. Nissanka Wijeratne

The panellists will be Vocational Training Authority (VTA) Chairman Eng. Dr Lionel Pinto; VTA Director General Chulangani Perera; VTA Director (Training) Shanthi Edirisinghe and VTA Director (Projects) S. Senaweera.

NCCSL said Sri Lanka today was witnessing a massive boom in the real estate and construction industry. The Western Region Megapolis project along with the big government infrastructure projects and rising demand for high-rises will provide a huge boost to the overall construction sector in the next few years.
