Multilac, the flagship paint brand of Macksons Holdings, participated in the 126th session of the Canton Fair from 14-19 October, showcasing a range of products which gained international prominence. Macksons Paints Industries has set a record as the only Sri Lankan company to have participated in the prestigious fair since 2014.
The Canton Fair (China Import and Export Fair), held every spring and fall in the southern city of Guangzhou, China, is recognised as the largest trade fair, with the most complete variety of exhibits attracting the broadest distribution of overseas buyers and generating impressive business turnover. Annually, more than 25,000 exhibitors and about 200,000 buyers attend the fair which is held in three phases.
This year too, the Multilac team, led by Exports Manager Ifham Mahboob, received a tremendous response and welcomed a large number of clients and prospective buyers who were keen to know more about Multilac. By speaking to the team they were able to gain a deeper understanding of the company.
The high quality of Multilac’s eco-friendly paints were acknowledged by global importers, including visitors from the US, Europe, Africa and the Middle East. Promising business prospects also arose from new markets such as Malaysia, Qatar, Nigeria, Ethiopia and Kenya.
“Multilac has been an annual participant in the Canton Fair for over five years and has been extremely successful in attracting potential buyers and growing its international business. This year too, we were able to engage with a wide range of prospects from newer markets and gain noteworthy progress in new areas of business,” said Macksons Paints Industries Chief Executive Officer Sajjaad Saliheen.
Multilac exports paint and surface coating solutions to 15 markets across the world, and its extensive export range includes decorative and weather resistant paints, waterproofing, wood care products and auto paints. Multilac Colour Bank, Multilac Platinum, Ital Wood, Multilac Auto, Micron and Mitsuko are some of the popular brands marketed by the company.
With a network of over 4,000 dealers in Sri Lanka, Multilac has been at the helm of the paint and surface coating industry for over three and a half decades and is the only entirely Sri Lankan-owned and operated paint company. It is the first paint brand in Sri Lanka to obtain the Green Label, CIOB Green Mark Certifications and Lead Safe Certification from IPEN America. The paints giant has international know-how and global technology partners such as BASF, BAYER, DOW, Samsung, Huntsman and Croda. Multilac has lived up to its tag as the innovator of the paint industry both at home and abroad, ensuring uncompromising quality which is accepted globally.
