INSEE Cement together with the Divisional Secretariats of Puthukkudiyiruppu, Oddusuddan and District Secretariat of Kilinochchi, supported rebuilding and renovation efforts of the flood-affected Northern Province with the distribution of INSEE Sanstha cement to over 250 of the worst-hit families across the region.
As the country’s foremost cement manufacturer with a strong distribution network established island-wide including the northern region, INSEE Cement took swift action to extend assistance to the affected communities, aligning with the company’s vision of ‘Building the Nation’.
To address the most immediate and pressing issue of reconstruction of demolished homes, INSEE Cement distributed 10 bags of INSEE Sanstha each to over 250 displaced families.
INSEE Sanstha, the country’s first-ever blended cement product (blended with Portland Limestone under SLS 1253) is known for producing highly workable and durable concrete, meeting the demand for accelerated construction cycles and rapid rebuilding following the flood.
INSEE Sanstha brand draws from a decades-long legacy as the most recognised home-building cement brand in Sri Lanka, with one in every three homes in the country built with INSEE Sanstha cement.
“We have been active and present in the north over the past few years, and have supported the region’s development throughout,” said INSEE Cement Executive Vice President – Sales, Marketing and Innovations Jan Kunigk.
“The flash floods have indeed been devastating with severe damage sustained by families and homes as well as the region’s infrastructure. As the trusted partner in construction across the country, we at INSEE Cement understand our responsibility towards these communities, and will continue to monitor the situation and extend our support beyond this initial donation. We are committed to carrying out our duty in rebuilding the nation.”
INSEE Sanstha, a trusted cement product that has been acclaimed as ‘Construction Brand of the Year’ for seven consecutive years is both SLS certified and recognised as a low-carbon emission product by the Green Building Council of Sri Lanka.
