Sri Lanka’s fast growth and its excellent reputation for manufacturing, value addition and ethics are attracting manufacturers and investors from across the globe. Besides these positives, Sri Lanka is also transforming into a regional business hub attracting international interest as being the optimum location to conduct business with all South Asian countries in one central location.
Aware of this unique feature of Sri Lanka, Intex South Asia 2016, the only international sourcing fair in South Asia showcasing the best in yarns, fabrics (apparel and denim) and clothing accessories, will welcome more than 150 exhibitors from Italy, Japan, South Africa, Korea, China, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Taiwan, Pakistan, Bangladesh and India to the Sri Lanka Exhibition and Convention Centre (SLECC), Colombo from 16-18 November.
This year Intex South Asia has received an excellent response from renowned Sri Lankan buyers as well as premium international buying and sourcing offices and leading brands across South Asia and beyond who are visiting the show.

The positive impact of Intex South Asia on the industry will be all the more in 2016, especially considering the imminent restoration of GSP+ concessions by the European Union to Sri Lanka. The fair comes to Colombo at a time when the industry is looking to ramp-up capacities across the board in readiness to fulfil the demands of European clients.
Intex South Asia will help the industry increase capacities on multiple fronts ranging from imports of yarns and fabrics for manufacturing to allied service requirements and latest technologies in garmenting as well as creating strong peer networks and crucial contacts via networking at the fair.
For the very first time in Sri Lanka, Intex South Asia along with WGSN – the world’s premier trend forecasting and analytics firm – are organising an exclusive presentation for Autumn-Winter 17/18 Season on Men & Women Fashion Trends and Forecast at Intex South Asia.
Sri Lanka Apparel Exporters Association Chairman Saif Jafferjee states: “I consider the efforts of Worldex India to bring together a show of this magnitude as commendable. I think this is a great opportunity for both large scale and small scale companies to gain exposure to new trends, innovation and opportunities in the respective areas of specialisation. I am of the view that an exhibition of this nature creates very important platforms to strengthen business interaction and engagements in a fast and efficient manner.”
Intex South Asia’s robust trade platform will foster collaborations and joint ventures, to boost intra-regional trade in the textile and apparel sector in South Asia as well as make connections on the international stage.
Taiwan Textile Federation Overseas Market Development Specialist Sean Tsai said: “Sri Lanka’s industry is accelerating at a fast pace and with the upcoming GSP+ we feel this is the perfect platform to network with the best in the industry. Sri Lanka’s requirements for high quality fabric, accessories and related materials are going to increase in the near future and the Taiwan Textile Federation would be pleased to make the right connect with the industry at this show.”
