The three day ‘2nd TEXTECH Sri Lanka 2011 International Expo’ an international exhibition on textile apparel technology and machinery for Sri Lanka will commence today at the ‘Sri Lanka Exhibition & Convention Centre’ in Colombo.
Concurrently two other exhibitions will also be held namely 7th Dye+Chem Sri Lanka 2011 International Expo – An International Exhibition on Dyes and Fine and Specialty Chemicals, and 2nd Colombo International Yarn & Fabric Show 2011.
The events are organised by CEMS Sri Lanka, part of CEMS-Global USA, a multinational exhibition organiser with operations in 8 countries and organising over 30 Exhibitions in South and South-East Asia including Sri Lanka.
“With these exhibitions in one go, it will be one comprehensive exhibition under one roof focused to the entire textile and apparel industry of Sri Lanka and a perfect one-stop buyer-seller meet for all the requirements of the Industry,” CEMS Sri Lanka Manager Operations Melani Widanapathirana said.
Last year CEMS successfully organised the ‘Textech Sri Lanka 2010 International Expo’ in March 2010 for the entire textile and apparel industry of Sri Lanka as well as the ‘POWER Sri Lanka 2010’ in June 2010 a first of its kind event endorsed by the Ministry of Power and Energy.
The formal opening ceremony of TEXTECH 2011 will be held today (3 March) at 10 a.m at Sri Lanka Exhibition & Convention Centre, 12, D. R. Wijewardena Mawatha, Colombo 10
Chief Guest at the opening will be Neomal Perera, MP, Deputy Minister of External Affairs whilst the special guest will be Vipula Wanigasekera, General Manager — Sri Lanka Convention Bureau.
Meherun N. Islam, President and Group Managing Director, CEMS-Global – USA & Asia-Pacific; Rohan Abayakoon, Chairman, Sri Lanka Apparel Manufacturers and Exporters Association; and Beauno Fernando, Chairman - Fabric and Apparel Accessory Manufacturers’ Association (FAAMA) will be present as well.
