Sunquick mocktails attract innovative bartenders at Culinary Art 2013

Sunquick, partnering with the Chefs’ Guild of Lanka, successfully conducted the popular mocktail competition at the annual Culinary Art Exhibition 2013 held recently at BMICH. More than 100 participants from leading hotels took part in the competition. The contestants had to prepare two innovative mocktails within seven minutes and they all came up with innovative recipes. They were judged by an international panel of certified judges of the World Association of Chefs Societies (WACS).
The mocktail competition really encouraged the young bartenders to participate and showcase their skill and talents. The judges were Chrys Grey, who heads and manages a dedicated team of food and beverage professionals for Qantas, the Australian airline, and Felicia Sorensen, known as the ‘Queen of Curries’ who was ranked Les Disciple d’ Auguste Escoffier in 1984. To be judged by such recognised judges in itself was an experience for the participants. While the mocktail competition attracted many participants, the well-designed Sunquick stall was also a real eye-catcher at Sri Lankan’s biggest food and hospitality show, with an exceptional mocktail counter.
