United Tractor and Equipment (UTE), a leading supplier of industrial welding products in Sri Lanka, has opened the first exclusive outlet in the country dedicated to welding products and the latest welding technology.

Centrally located at No 406 1/2, Sri Sangaraja Mw, Colombo 10, and easily accessible to customers, the UTE Welding Excellence Centre provides high-quality welding equipment, electrodes, wires and other welding appliances and accessories under one roof.

The novel showroom will be an enhancement of convenience, enabling customers to buy welding products off the shelf without delays, UTE said. This showroom will provide knowledge and advice on advanced welding technology including manual, automated and robotic welding with the help of foreign principals.

Interested customers can also obtain latest technical brochures and material on welding technology and the showroom will act as a centre for education and awareness on modern industry practices, enabling customers to choose best value-for-money solutions.

The centre was ceremonially inaugurated by UTE group Chairman and CEO, Priath Fernando.

“The opening of this showroom is a strategic, timely move which benefits many of our local welders who are unaware of latest welding technology and products and still use inefficient and out-dated welding equipment,” Fernando said.

“Welding equipment is a basic necessity in many industrial applications including construction, transportation and manufacturing and thus this showroom has the potential to contribute tangibly to industrial development.”

The product range at the new showroom includes Cigweld gas welding and cutting equipment; Cigweld TIG, MIG manual and plasma cutters; engine driven welders and Binzel welding torches and accessories.

United Tractors is the sole local agent for the globally renowned Australian brand Cigweld and German brand Abicor Binzel.

The only Business Superbrand in the General Machinery category in the country’s construction sector, UTE is a diversified group with interests in construction and heavy machinery, power generation and distribution, material handling and storing, water distribution and waste management, welding equipment and engineering services and information and communication technology and provides engineering solutions to an array of Sri Lankan industries.
