Sri Lanka Cultural Performance at the World Bank

The annual Sri Lanka Cultural Performance at the World Bank Headquarters organised by the Embassy of Sri Lanka, Washington and the Office of the Executive Director of the World Bank (Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, & Sri Lanka) was held at Preston Auditorium on February 6, 2014. This year’s event featured the Channa-Upuli dance troupe from Sri Lanka, percussionist Jananath Warakagoda and violinist Ruwan Weerasekara. The packed audience was comprised of staff members of the World Bank, International Monitory Fund (IMF) and several US federal agencies. Also in the audience were Mukesh Nandan Prasad, Executive Director of the World Bank, Dr. Philippe Le Houerou, the World Bank Vice President for the South Asia, Ambassador Jaliya Wickramasuriya and Priyanga Wickramasuriya. This is the fifth consecutive year that the Embassy of Sri Lanka organised the Sri Lanka Cultural Performance at the World Bank Headquarters as part of its program to commemorate Independence Day of Sri Lanka in the United States.
