Special traffic plan for Poson

Facilities will be provided for the devotees to reach the places of worship in Anuradhapura in their vehicles during the Poson festival this year and a special traffic plan will be implemented, Senior DIG Jayantha Gamage said.

He pointed out that the traffic plan will be implemented on Poson Day and the day after for the benefit of devotees who visit the Atamasthana. The traffic plan will be implemented from Mirisgoniya to Anuradhapura for vehicles coming from Dambulla, Kala Oya and Kurunegala.

He said that the traffic plan will be implemented from Nochchiyagama to Anuradhapura from the direction of Puttalam and from Medawachchiya to Anuradhapura.

He said that five traffic zones will be introduced giving priority to the town limits. He stressed that parking areas will be provided closer to the places of worship.
