The National Chamber of Commerce of Sri Lanka (NCCSL) will hold a seminar/discussion on ‘Bilateral Trade between Sri Lanka and Malaysia’ on Wednesday 4 April, from 3 p.m. to 4.30p.m. at the chamber auditorium, No. 450 D.R. Wijewardene Mw, Colombo 10
The special Guest will be High Commissioner of Malaysia in Sri Lanka Azmi Zainudeen and will be accompanied by Counsellor of the Malaysian High Commission Tan Li Lung.
They will speak on the current business trend, trade potential, and opportunities for export, import, investment and other services for Sri Lankan businesses in Malaysia.
Participants will also have an opportunity to interact with the officials of the High Commission and get first hand information on any trade and business related issues in doing business with Malaysia.
Major exports to Malaysia from Sri Lanka are garments, tea, gems and jewellery, natural rubber and rubber products, tyres, food preparations, coconut and coconut products, spices and essential oils,, precious stones, machinery equipment, ceramic products, sea food, ornamental fish, cut flowers and foliage plants, fruits and vegetables, engineering/electronic products, plastic /leather products, footwear, wooden furniture, handloom and textiles, handicrafts and gift items, stationery herbal , toys, chemical products, IT and IT enabled services etc
Main imports to Sri Lanka are textiles and clothing, petroleum, machinery and equipment, building materials, motor vehicles, transport equipments, electrical equipment, chemicals, food and beverages, wheat, sugar, milk and milk products, fertilizer, paper and paper boards.
