Niru Lanka Managing Director Janice Baid said that initially the branch would start with 34 well trained diamond sorters under the supervision of GIA instructors. “There is capacity to sort 5,000 carats per month. Since it is an export-oriented company, it will bring in foreign exchange earnings and support Sri Lanka’s dollar earnings.”
