Shanghai, ‘Hu’ for short, is a renowned international metropolis which constantly draws attention from all over the world. The perfect blend of modern and traditional cultures and skyscrapers that draw the skyline of the city made the grand tour truly memorable. The excursion included visiting The Bund, also known as ‘Zhongshan Dong Yi Lu’, a famous waterfront regarded as the symbol of Shanghai for hundreds of years, in addition to visiting Xintiandi, an urban attraction of a fashionable pedestrian street which holds historical and cultural legacies, such as the ‘Shikumen’, meaning ‘Stone Warehouse Gate’, which is regarded as the most representative house style of Shanghai.
The travellers also had the privilege of seeing the beautiful city of Shanghai from the Oriental Pearl Tower, which is 468 metres (1,536 feet) high, and is the world’s sixth and China’s second tallest TV and radio tower. Enjoying a tranquil and revitalised time at the Yuyuan Garden, a famous classical garden located in AnrenJie, Shanghai which consists of six main scenic areas, each featuring several iconic spots within its borders, the travellers were also entertained by witnessing the famous Shanghai Acrobatic Show.
Lastly, the Grand Tour ensured to give its privileged travellers the opportunity to treat themselves to retail therapy at some of the iconic shopping centres in Shanghai such as Tianzifang, Silk Factory, Tao Bao City, and many more, wrapping up the day’s tour with delightful oriental and modern cuisines.
