The Sri Lanka-Canada Business Council (SLCBC) of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce will be organising a luncheon meeting on the topic ‘A strategic briefing to facilitate the successful entry and the acceleration of sustainable growth of Sri Lankan exports in Canada’s Lucrative Export Market’ on 3 April at the Union Ballroom, Hilton Colombo Residence 12 noon onwards.
It is held in partnership with Canada-Sri Lanka Business Council President and the Canadian Trade Representative for The National Chamber of Exporters of Sri Lanka (NCE) Upali Obeyesekere. Obeyesekere is also the Director of South Asian Business Councils Alliance (SABCA) that promotes trade, investment and technology transfer between Canada and SAARC countries.
He pioneered the import of food products from Sri Lanka to Canada in 1983 as agents for Sri Lanka State Trading Corporation (CONSOLEXPO), and Union Commodities (Pvt.) Ltd He was an Investment Promotion Consultant for the Board of Investment of Sri Lanka, a position he held with distinction for three years.
