With exciting plans in the pipeline for diversification and market development, Lankem Ceylon PLC has spread its wings in the realm of decorative paints by partnering with the Italian decorative paint giant Candis.
Sri Lankan consumers will thus be offered a world class fashion experience for their walls combined with Italian sophistication.
Speaking at the launch event in Colombo, Director Lankem Ceylon PLC Ruwan T. Weerasinghe said, “Our lives and our personalities are shaped and moulded by our experiences and interactions with colour. From the days of the ancient cavemen to the professional designers of today, colour has been a medium of expression and freedom. What we are offering the local consumer today is this freedom to express and indulge themselves, and decorate their walls, and hence their lives, with this truly marvellous decorative paint experience with a touch of Italian finesse.”
Also present on the occasion were Italian Ambassador Fabrizio Arpea, President of the SLIA Ranjan Nadessapillay, Deputy Chairman Lankem Ceylon PLC S. D. R. Arudpragasam, Managing Director Anushman Rajaratnam and Director Ruwan Weerasinghe.
“With ambitious plans based on nearly three decades of successful operations, Lankem Ceylon has kept to its vision of being the ‘front runner’ in the array of industries it represents, creating a niche in each one of them,” Weerasinghe further said.
Export Manager of Candis Paints Nanni Graffi said, “We’re happy to team up with Lankem Paints and revolutionise Sri Lanka’s decorative paints market. Being a tropical and temperate country, Sri Lanka abounds in colour. Candis paints are logically a further extension of these hues and bring a vibrant palette of a myriad of colours to complement the Sri Lankan experience.”
With a history of its own, the mission of Candis is to concentrate its efforts on the real goal that matters – excellence – and the results are evident in its products and concern for the environment. Its wide range of products inspires customers to choose the right décor for their homes. They are all easy-to-apply and, depending on the desired effect, can produce various forms of ‘light-dark’ which are both unique and truly enchanting. The careful selection of raw materials, the unique finishes and the search for that special Italian style together create a deep and thorough experience for those who choose to decorate their home with this product.
Being part of the Lankem Ceylon Group, Lankem Paints Limited is a pioneering paint manufacturer in Sri Lanka since 1984 and currently owns the international brand name Robbialac under which name all coatings are produced and sold.
