The Group of Colombo Indians (COLIND) will host Holi celebrations in association with the Taj Samudra Colombo on 11 March 2012.

Of all the festivals of India, a country abounding in culture and heritage, Holi is arguably the most enjoyable. It is celebrated as a harvest festival as well as a welcome festival for the spring season and falls in early March every year. This exuberant festival is also associated with the immortal love of Krishna and Radha and finds its roots in Hindu mythology.

Holi has traditionally been celebrated in high spirit without any distinction of cast, creed, color, race, status or sex. It is believed that coloured powder or coloured water is sprinkled on each other engaging people in harmonious camaraderie so that everyone looks the same; and universal brotherhood is reaffirmed.

This year, to celebrate Holi, COLIND brings to you a team of Bollywood celebrities including, Miss India 2010 Neha Hinge, Actress Rati Agnihotri, Actor Tanuj Agnihotri and Movie Director Joe Ranjan. These Bollywood personalities are the main cast of new Bollywood movie ‘LUV YOU SONIYO’.

Join at the South Lawns on 11 March at 10:30 a.m. with coloured powder and water galore. Dance away to the finest hits spun by our DJ and revel in the rain dance. There will be fabulous Indian treats to tantalise your taste buds.

Tickets are priced at Rs. 3,000 nett per adult, Rs 1,500 nett per children four to 12 (inclusive of lunch). Call on Sharon on 24 446622 and make your reservations now.
