Sri Lanka’s renowned men’s wear specialist Fouzul Hameed took the runway by storm on the opening night of the recent ‘HSBC Colombo Fashion Week 2011’ with his exclusive and innovative ‘FH Studio Spring Summer Designer Collection’.
The pièce de résistance was FH Ceremonial Collection as six debonair male models strutted the catwalk in designer outfits crafted from the finest Italian fabric embellished with Swarovski elements. This is the very first time that the designer has developed a ceremonial men’s wear collection using the brilliant Flatback Xilion Hotfix elements and buttons from Swarovski elements.
“This has been my fifth and (in retrospect) boldest year at the HSBC Colombo Fashion Week. Harnessing the glamour of Swarovski elements in the FH men’s ceremonial range has had a fabulous impact on the international audience here. It has wowed them to say the least and has taken the collection to a totally different level. The feedback I’ve got is very positive and most encouraging. This, I’m confident will inspire more local designers to create differently and unveil their own unique collections on par with international designers,” said Hameed.
The FH ‘Casual Wear’ range and ‘Smart Casual/Sporty’ range once again drew inspiration from the European charm and sartorial elegance of Italy. They were worked off in the vibrant summer colors of red, white and blue with black for good measure with 100% linens, tencil, wools and silks.
The “FH Studio Spring Summer Designer Collection” attracted great acclaim from the packed-to-capacity audience as designer Hameed walked down the catwalk in the finale. The general consensus was that this was “an elegant selection and showed off Sri Lankan excellence with an international flair”. The outfits, their finish, quality and style blended seamlessly with the best of European fashion collections, thus offering a wider selection for the discerning and fashion conscious male both in Sri Lanka and overseas.
The FH Brand is currently marketed in India, Maldives and Czech Republic to a rapidly growing portfolio of discerning customers which Hameed says is a significant achievement.
“Yes it gives me a sense of personal achievement, but more importantly, it has parallely brought honour and glory to Sri Lanka. My heartfelt thanks go to the HSBC Colombo Fashion Week for recognising many young and upcoming designers and positioning them on the international map”.
Says the President and Director of the HSBC Colombo Fashion Week Ajai Vir Singh: “CFW is concentrating more on the business of fashion this year, as that has to be the basis of a robust local fashion industry, as every year the industry progresses with CFW, so a lot is riding on this project. FH is a great supporter as the brand and the collection is growing by leaps and bounds. This growth also mirrors how CFW is becoming a stronger platform every year supporting local brands.”
The FH Studio Collection addresses the modern man who wants to be elegant. Although acclaimed as high fashion, is also very wearable without being perceived as overdressed. FH designs are made with ethical manufacturing where all fabrics and accessories used are of the highest quality and sourced from world class and international and reputed suppliers.
Made at the state-of-the-art factory using the latest technology, every item is made to match and be on par with other reputed international brands.
