Colombo City Centre Partners Ltd., a joint venture between Singapore’s Silver Needle Hospitality and Sri Lanka’s Abans Group, has appointed experienced property manager Richard Buultjens as General Manager of the mixed-use lifestyle development. Richard’s 11 years of in-depth knowledge and experience in Colombo’s property market will help drive the Colombo City Centre to become the world-class development for investors, citizens and business travellers. He joins from one of Sri Lanka’s biggest conglomerates, where he headed its residential property sales and marketing. During his tenure there, he was involved in the sales and marketing efforts for more than 1,000 luxury apartments in Colombo. In addition to his expertise in the residential property market, Richard is also an authority in sales and marketing, with a total of nearly 32 years of experience in the field. “I am excited to head this project, which will be an inviting iconic landmark that enhances the Colombo lifestyle,” said Richard. “With unblocked views of the Indian Ocean and direct access to a retail mall, its apartments will also offer investors and citizens one of the city’s most desirable residential choices.” SilverNeedle Hospitality and the Abans Group have invested more than $ 150 million to develop the Colombo City Centre, a mixed-use development located by the Beira Lake in Colombo’s central business district. The development comprises residential apartments, a lifestyle mall and a 200-room hotel that will be branded NEXT Hotels. Aedas, the award-winning architect, is leading the design for this project, while Gensler, the world’s biggest collaborative design firm, is responsible for designing the apartments. “We are pleased to welcome an expert of Richard’s calibre to head the Colombo City Centre, our first project in the country,” said Colombo City Centre Partners Chairman Iqbal Jumabhoy. “He will play a crucial role in managing the project that will be an engaging landmark that will enhance Colombo’s cityscape while offering a new and unique experience for Sri Lankans.”
