President of CA Sri Lanka Sujeewa Rajapaksa, speaking at the convocation underscored the importance of having a skilled workforce, especially for a developing country like Sri Lanka, while emphasizing that more focus should be put in to ensure brain gain instead of brain drain.
“In this time of recovery and development, I do not have to underscore the role of a professional in helping rebuild our country. You may be an accountant or a marketer by profession, but in general we all have an underlying responsibility in helping our nation succeed in all its development plans. We are recovering from a tragic period of time, but as the present generation of professionals, we should make it our responsibility to build a better future for our future generations. This is an opportunity for us to prove that we as a nation are capable to progress despite the challenges thrown at us,” he noted.
While congratulating the graduates on their academic achievements, Rajapaksa stressed that professional dedication along with continuous education is a requirement if professionals are to survive in today’s competitive business world.
Having being in existence for over 10 years, the CA Business School is one of the country’s leading business school’s, providing a diverse range of high-end local and foreign qualifications for the advancement of the Sri Lankan professional.
Both CA Sri Lanka and the USQ, share an exceptional association counting to 10 long years. Today, the USQ MBA offered through the Business School is one of the most popular MBA programs in the country, while the Postgraduate Diploma offered at the Institute has successfully been conducted in the country for almost 30 years and is very popular among professionals from both the accounting and non-accounting sectors.
