Bureau Veritas Consumer Products Services Lanka Ltd., is qualified for ISO 17025: 2005 (Certificate of Accreditation for Textile Testing – Mechanical & Chemical Testing) from National Accreditation Board of Testing and Calibration Laboratories (NABL) and the largest QA Services provider to the apparel industry in Sri Lanka. It provides the full fledge testing facilities including chemical, physical, analytical and regulatory testing, inspections, technical audits, social compliance audits at one stop. Bureau Veritas currently uses high tech equipment for their testing services which easy to meet the international standards especially in key retailer regions. Meanwhile the opening ceremony of the new laboratory was held on 6 June 2014 with the participation of Apparel and Non Apparel Vendors, Government and Semi Government Authorises, Chambers etc. in Hilton Hotel, Colombo. Bureau Veritas Consumer Products Services Lanka Ltd General Manager Chanaki De Costa who was addressing the gathering, said they began their journey in Sri Lanka 19 years ago with six employees and has shifted to a new state of the art facility in Katubedda with 220 employees. She said the new facility will be a green certified lab. After 19 years we decided to diversify our scope of activities to other industry sectors as well due to the strong positioning of Bureau Veritas serve in eight industries throughout the globe in 140 countries. With the blessings of government authorities, BOI Sri Lanka, we extended our scope of activities to non apparel testing a few years back. Bureau Vertias has registered with Central Environmental Authority (CEA) in Sri Lanka for testing of Water and Waste Water Testing which further expanded their testing scope for BOD, COD, pH, pesticides, heavy metals, TSS analysis. Cosmetic Products, Food, Paints and Chemicals are tested as per the local and international regulations which facilitate the services in cosmetic exporters and importers in the country. The new facility would serve as a hub point for all testing, inspection and audit services and endeavours to promote further development and expand the facility to many milestones.
