1,100 families in Colombo District get housing loans

Around 1,100 families in the Colombo District last week received housing loans from Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe under the Housing and Construction Minister Sajith Premadasa’s program ‘Samatta Sevena’ through the National Housing Development Authority. 

At present over two million families are living without proper housing and to date 40 model villages have been vested with the people countrywide. Further over 450 Uda Gama re-awakened villages are being constructed including in the north and east.

The distribution of loans for families in the Colombo District was held at the Temple Trees. Deputy Minister for Housing and Construction Indika Bandara, and NHDA Chairman S. Palansooriya and Colombo District MPs also participated. Pix by Ashraff A. Samad
