Eight bombings targeting Christian churches and high end hotels in Sri Lanka on Sunday have left over 200 dead and hundreds injured during the holiest of Christian holidays, thereby ending a decade of peace for Sri Lanka.
Australian Opposition Leader Bill Shorten is quoted in the Sydney Morning Herald, saying the news was devastating. “It is a particularly despicable act to target worshippers at one of the holiest times of the year for Christians, Easter Sunday. An attack on any religion is an attack on all religions; it is an assault on our common humanity. We all share a responsibility to unite, condemn and defeat such an attack on our values and our way of life.”
How have we as a civilisation sunk so low?
Addressing terrorist attacks by capturing the perpetrators and administering justice does nothing to bring back the innocent victims whose lives have been taken. Are we now so accustomed to terrorist attacks that we resign ourselves to their inevitability, feeling powerless to prevent them? Over time, we have created a culture which in many ways condones and promotes terrorism; a culture that is xenophobic, glorifies violence, and instils fear of those who are different from us.

The only way to stop these attacks is to shift our cultural values to peace and tolerance. One proven way for us to accomplish this is by utilising a little known means of ending all war and terrorism once and for all: Invincible Defence Technology (IDT).
Invincible Defence Technology: A non-religious, humane and beneficial approach
The practical components of IDT are the non-religious Transcendental Meditation (TM) and the more advanced TM-Sidhi programs. When large groups of experts practice these programs together, a powerful field effect of coherence and peace is generated that spills over into the surrounding population.
Extensive scientific research has repeatedly confirmed measurable decreases in war deaths, terrorism, and crime when IDT is utilised. Due to this research the non-profit organisation Global Union of Scientists for Peace (GUSP) advocates this simple and cost-effective approach for reducing social stress (see: https://www.gusp.org/global-peace-summit).
Invincible Defence Technology is cost-effective
Any military is capable of training and maintaining groups of experts in the advanced IDT strategy. This Prevention Wing of the Military would practice IDT programs twice a day in large groups, defusing social tensions. The collective consciousness of all populations will rise through the influence of greater harmony and peace. Those who have engaged in violence will no longer do so. Studies have shown repeatedly that this method works – and will continue to work as long as the peace-creating group is maintained.
Implementation
IDT is not restricted to the military. Any large group of experts trained in the advanced IDT techniques can accomplish the same goals of alleviating terror and violence by practicing this approach in groups twice a day. These groups could be comprised of congregations at places of worship, prisoners, the elderly in retirement homes, even schoolchildren. The important factor is that the techniques be performed by trained experts consistently in groups twice a day. In this way our cultural values will shift from violence and terrorism to peace and tolerance.
Nothing else has worked
At this stressful time it is not enough for governments and militaries to take action. We have to examine our own values and honestly assess whether we are promoting peace and tolerance, or fostering hatred in our everyday speech and actions.
Learning the transcendental meditation technique and practicing it twice a day is a way to empower each and every individual to shift our global culture from hate to love. It is now up to each one of us to take responsibility for the world we have created by together consciously and intentionally creating a world of peace.
