Black Sunday declared by Catholic Church and God’s way

Letter to Malcom Cardinal Ranjith

I am writing this letter as a true practicing Catholic who goes to church on Sundays and on any other day wherever possible, as I believe that this peaceful protest is not in line with the scriptures that has been taught and practiced by us.

It is true that great pain has been caused to the victims and their families and an irrevocable loss to our Catholic community. But as true Christians I believe that we should only pray to God and surrender this situation to God and only trust in him.

Your Eminence will know this better that in the scriptures there are many verses that guide us in trusting God in these situations but I am yet to find a verse which says that we should protest against the will of God.

Quote: 2 Chronicles 20: 12 -17, Exodus 15, 3:6, Isiah 45:12,5212, Psalm 35:1,9:3,56;3, 46;12, Joshua 1:9, Jeramiah 17.7. God’s promise is “No weapon forged against you will prevail, and you will refute every tongue that accuses you. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and this is their vindication from me,” declares the LORD” – Isaiah 54.17.

My humble request to you is not to proceed with any political actions that may affect the faith of the true Christians. We have to only surrender this battle to God.

Asking the blessing of Your Eminence, I am, yours respectfully in Christ.
