A youth was arrested in Jaffna after he shook his hand with the visiting Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The incident took place after Indian Premier completed the handing over of houses built by Indian assistance at Keerimalai on Saturday.
Whilst leaving the ceremony, a youth later identified as a Rajarata University third year student and the senate member of National Youth Services Committee, shook hands with Indian Premier.
After Modi’s departure, the Indian security officers caught the youth and handed him over to the Sri Lankan Police who later produced him before Mallkam Magistrate A. Leninkumar who released the youth on bail and ordered to appear before the Court on 23 March.
