Wimal plans housing scheme for expatriate workers in Korea

Minister of Construction, Engineering Services, Housing and Common Amenities Wimal Weerawansa is considering launching a housing scheme with the assistance of Korea for Sri Lankan migrant workers employed in South Korea.
The idea was reportedly mooted at a special meeting between Weerawansa and South Korean Minister for Land, Infrastructure and Transport Suh Seung Hwan Seoul.
Weerawansa was in Seoul attending the Asia Pacific Ministerial Conference of Housing and Urban Development from 3-5 November.
The two Ministers also discussed Sri Lanka’s construction industry as well as the investment opportunities available in the island, national news agency Lankapuvath reported.
The South Korean Minister has reportedly expressed willingness to invest in Sri Lanka.
