Ambassador Sison met with the Chief Minister at the latter’s temporary offices at Temple Road, Jaffna.
The pair had discussed land invasion in the North and resettlement concerns, the US Embassy said on its official Twitter page yesterday.
The US Ambassador had conveyed US support for a united Sri Lanka, the Embassy tweeted.
The Chief Minister was admitted to the Jaffna Teaching Hospital for a series of medical tests over 24 hours following the meeting with the US Ambassador, his aides said. The tests were routine, sources at the hospital and the Chief Minister’s aides maintained. (DB)
