The United National Party (UNP) has called on former LTTE international wing leader and chief arms procurer, Kumaran Pathmanatahan alias KP to apologise for the killings carried out by the LTTE in the country.
UNP National Organiser and parliamentarian Ravi Karunanayake has told the media that detained LTTE leader had apologised to India for the assassination of its political leaders during a media interview recently.
Karunanayake has maintained that while KP’s move to apologise to India was appreciated, he had to apologise for the killings in Sri Lanka as well.
The parliamentarian has queried as to why KP could not apologise for the killings in Sri Lanka.
Meanwhile, the parliamentary select committee to probe allegations against KP requested by the UNP from the Speaker is yet to be appointed. (www.colombopage.com)
