A UNP delegation is to travel to the Northern Province today.
Party Leader Ranil Wickremesinghe will lead the delegation and the main aim of the visit is to hold preliminary discussions on the preparations for the party’s May Day rally, which is to be held in Jaffna this year.
The UNPers are to hold discussions with Tamil National Alliance (TNA) Parliamentarians in the area on the holding of a joint May Day rally this year.
They are to also meet with civil society representatives and religious leaders to discuss issues faced by the people in the area.
The UNP delegation is to include Party Secretary Tissa Attanayake and MPs Ravi Karunanayake and Dr. Jayalath Jayawardena.
