As postal voting for the 21 September provincial council elections concludes today, the main opposition United National Party today said the Government was blatantly violating election regulations.
Addressing a press briefing yesterday, UNP General Secretary Tissa Attanayake said that the Government was engaging in massive abuse of State resources, vehicles and property for election campaigning. He added that the Government was also intimidating voters and providing illegal incentives. Claiming that public servants had been badly let down by the ruling regime, Attanayake urged State sector employees to cast their votes against the Government during postal voting.
