The new political front formed to prevent the return of former leader Mahinda Rajapaksa will present a development plan for the country based on the policies of democracy’s founding leaders.
Minister Patali Champika Ranawaka says the United National Front for Good Governance will launch a new policy manifesto based on President Maithripala Sirisena’s 8 January good governance plan.
The UNF will launch many new policies for good governance targeting the upcoming general election, the Minister said addressing a media briefing Saturday.
New avenues of development will be arranged mixing the policies of late Prime Ministers D.S. Senanayake and S.W.R.D. Bandaranaike and the leftist policies of late Dr. N.M. Perera, Minister Ranawaka added.
He said the new Government formed after the election would introduce a social marketing economy. Environmental conservation, green technology and many other novel policies will be included in the national economic plan giving priority to poverty alleviation.
Emphasising that Sri Lanka’s economy had totally collapsed under the Mahinda Rajapaksa regime, the Minister assured that the new government would be committed to steer Sri Lanka towards prosperity.
